Do Your Best
Cub Scout Promise
I, [name], promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country,
To help other people, and
To obey the Law of the Pack.
A Cub Scout promises “To help other people”. How do they do it? They volunteer to help others especially those who are in dire need of assistance. In order to encourage boys to keep their promise and to make their volunteer spirit come alive our Pack has developed an on-going service project in conjunction with the Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County (CEDA Northwest to be concise).
As a Pack we have agreed to assist CEDA Northwest on a continuing basis. In order to coordinate with their food pantry manager, we have developed the schedule below. Each month one Den will be responsible for assisting the CEDA food pantry. Most months the aide will consist of packing bags or stocking shelves. Some months, when the cupboards are bare, the Den will be asked to run a food drive. Each month the Den responsible will contact the CEDA food pantry manager and coordinate that months activity.
